Motor Vehicle Outage Planned for October 6-10, 2017

The NH Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles will be implementing a new computer system in the month of October that will affect the processing of Motor Vehicle Registrations in the entire State between October 6th – 10th. During this outage the City Clerk’s Office, as well as all State of NH-DMV locations, will be unable to process any Motor Vehicle or Driver’s Licensing transactions, including online requests. Beginning on the morning of Wednesday, October 11, 2017 the computer system is anticipated to be operational and processing can resume.

Important Motor Vehicle Update


With the change to requirements from the DMV, renewal notices are no longer needed to register your vehicle and the owner of the vehicle can come into the office with your photo identification and we can look up your registration information for you (up to 3 per customer). We will no longer be mailing a reminder for vehicle registrations. If you would like to receive an email renewal notice please email the City Clerk.

To comply fully with the Driver Privacy Protection Act we are not permitted to give motor vehicle fees over the telephone. Please click the button below to get an estimate online

At the request of the State of NH - DMV, please have photo identification available for all Motor Vehicle transactions.
